Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma in the process of enacting key provisions of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). As part of SORNA, all qualifying sex offenders who work, go to school, or reside within the Absentee Shawnee tribal jurisdiction are required to register with the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Police Department. In addition, the SORNA compliance process establishes the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Sex Offender Registry website as a publicly accessible registry.
